Welcome to Our Rural Pottery Studio, situated in Bugthorpe on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds!
We have been Offering Fun, Creative pottery Sessions for all ages and abilities for over 30 years!
Whether you want to join a regular weekly session, have a one off go, organise a party or just want a go on the wheel to tick off your bucket list! No experience needed, we cater for all!
Closed Wednesday, Sunday and Bank Holidays, otherwise bookings taken daily!
What we Offer, Booking Essential:
2 hr Throwing Session- from £32.50 adult, £29.50 child (10 yrs plus)
Have a go on the potters wheel, a great introduction to throwing for all abilities. Session includes a demo, initial instruction and time to practice… you will make several pots and choose your best ones at the end, great fun to do with a friend or partner!
The session includes 1/your best pot (white glazed for you), you can choose to keep extras at £8 each. Option to return for a glazing session and decorate once fired, £7.50 (adult £5.50 child) session fee applies.
2hr Hand Building Sessions- from £19.50 (adult)
Have a go at making with clay by hand, have some clay therapy and get creative!
Try your hand at Coils, pinch pots, slabs and more.. You can choose your project. No previous experience needed! Option to return once fired for a glazing/decorating session (£7.50 adult, £5.50 child)
Regular Weekly Sessions
If you get the bug and want to come regularly we offer sociable weekly 2 hr sessions to escape the world and fully explore the magic of making with clay!
You learn the basics and then we simply let you explore your own projects and support you through your clay journey! We offer the use of different clays, a multitude of glazes and happy for you to play! Things may not always go to plan, as is the way with clay and firing but you will learn a lot in the process!
Sessions run 10.30 am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
plus 6.30pm Tuesday (March – December)
Session fees £7.50 (adult) for 2 hrs studio time, all clay, glazes and firings are extra.
Baby Hand & Footprints, Clay Imprints, even ‘bum prints’ if you desire!
Immortalise their tiny hands and feet! Either painted on a pre-made mug, plate, bauble or item of your choice, or imprinted in clay. Small groups welcome!

Make n Paint from £21.50 child £23.50 adult
Make with clay and paint a premade pot all inclusive, includes a small/medium sized paint a pot item and 500g clay. You can pay extra for larger items or more clay.
Paint n Throw from £26.50 child £28.50 adult.
Have a go on the potters wheel to make a pot and paint a pre made pot, all inclusive! No experience necessary! Great for Hen dos, Christmas and Birthday Parties.
Paint a Pot from £12 child, £14 adult…
Pots from £6.50, plus session fee: session fees £7.50 adult, £5.50 child, £20 family (max 2 adults, 2 children for family)
Choose from our large range of pre made pots, most of which are hand cast on site and not available elsewhere. No artistic talents required as there’s lots of decoration tools, techniques and speciality glazes to choose from!
Parties!
For any occasion! Hens, Stags, Birthdays, Christmas, Baby shower…
Paint a pot, paint n throw, make n throw, options available (details above!). Bring food, cake and refreshments! Larger groups of 10 plus can book the whole studio. Max 22.
